The Chief

Mark Ferriera | Chief Probation Officer

Chief Ferriera has been with the Department since 1999. He began his career as a Probation Corrections Officer working in the juvenile hall. Chief Ferriera has been assigned to a variety of assignments throughout his career, including field services, the Day Reporting Center, the Superior Courts and the Community Corrections Partnership. Most recently, he was Superintendent of the Juvenile Institutions until his appointment as the Chief Probation Officer. Chief Ferriera has established the following as his Vision for the Probation Department: Creating a culture of trust and having a positive impact to build a safer Stanislaus County.

Chief Ferriera has spent his entire life living and working in Stanislaus County. He is a second-generation department head, as his mother, Jeanne, was the Executive Director at Stanislaus Regional 9-1-1 for many years before her retirement. He is a Christian and married with two children. Chief Ferriera is also an avid San Francisco Giants and 49er fan, who enjoys attending games with family.
